NTT developed and commercialized the world’s first IP-based video transmission system handling up to 1.5Gbps uncompressed HDTV video. The "i-Visto” provides a new generation video network solutions over an IP network.
The “i-Visto”(Internet video studio system for HDTV production), which is the world’s first IP-based, real-time video transmission and archiving system, including uncompressed HDTV video.
The system has multi-rate input-output interface, therefore, it can handle not only uncompressed HDTV video but images such as SDTV.
The system is configured with an i-Visto gateway, i-Visto eXmedia server and HDTV IP-camera, seamlessly connected by IP-networks which are spread around over the world with no restriction of system scale.
It is an enabling system that can deliver the uncompressed HD-SDI signals, which will be used in digital broadcasting mainly, to the remote sites over an IP network in real time.
As an example of concrete application, there is an information camera system of broadcasting station, which can send the image and control signals in both directions, and video materials transmission system over an IP network between broadcasting stations.
The i-Visto system, built over a global high-speed IP network, provides a number of advantages of ultra-high-speed IP-network in the fields of video producing and delivering in broadcast industry.
